Costa Botes retaliation

Hello film fans

I've been getting a bunch of mail asking me why the site was unavailable for a while. What happened was that I got contacted by Costa Botes, the co-director behind the movie Forgotten Silver, asking me to remove his movie from the site. While I originally took the movie down, the man continued to harass me, putting down all film fans and filmmakers alike, coming with ever more outrageous statements like calling the director of TPB:AFK a “shitty little lying sack of shit” and wanting to shut down the whole bitcoin currency because he thought it might somehow stop piracy. It got to the point where he became outright psychopathic, and he finally put our whole conversation online on his site here, obviously proud of his hatred. Then he even got a friend to come to my site to harass me too (though it was probably just him posting as an anonymous). Anyway, I decided it might be good to put this site on pause for a while.

This long and sad story has a silver lining though, because the last thing I did before putting my site on pause, was to encourage everyone to share his films as much as possible. And what do you know, someone has done just that, and collected all of his films in a neat package.

To help fight this maniac director, and take a stand against like-minded copyright extremists, all you have to do is download and share this package. And you'll actually be rewarded handsomely for it too, because including the aforementioned Forgotten Silver, you'll also get three behind the scenes documentaries to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

A big thank you to the person who made this available, and all the support from you film fans out there.

  1. Thank you for all of your perseverance in keeping this awesome site alive. I was deeply saddened when I discovered that it was down. It looked temporary to me but with these types of things, you just never know what will happen. I think I will DL this collection just for sport. Not sure if I'm interested in it though. Thanks for posting!!

  2. Thank you for the support. I will keep this site going for as long as I can.

About this collection, I find it rather funny that this guy is actually furious that people are appreciating his work. Some people just don't know how to take a compliment. =)

  3. Thanks for all the great movies keep up the good work

  4. Thank u so so so so much for your dedication. I no longer watch movies simply because I can't stomach the conventional Hollywood crap. I found Lawn Dogs here and I am elated ..... Thank u so so much. Merci beaucoup :)

  5. Thank you for your support. It's guys like you that make me bother with all this. =)

  6. You really make the world a better place sharing these beautiful films with us all. Costa Botes made me swear for the first time in a decade! What a dreadful little man he is so unreasonable, if his work was like him no one would bother watching any of it!
Please keep up the good work and fighting the good fight!

  7. Thank you very much for those kind words.

As I've made sure that this site breaks no laws (I'm not hosting any torrents or files, only linking to others that do) and since I'm not making any money off it (I actually spend a little sum to keep it up), I hope it will stay up for years to come.

  8. As much as I appreciate your taste in films in overall. I must say that i'm quite disappointed that you didn't followed Costa Botes personal wishes to remove the Torrents links and by doing so, you derogate from your own words.. If you respect and praise is work, the least you could do would be to respect in the same way his will. Blackmailing him by redirecting us toward a packaged torrent that implicitly try to harass him even more doesn't serve you well.. Again, I respect the time and the effort you spent in this blog trying to filter and put in front light gems and underestimated films.

  9. Thank you for your comment.

I understand your view, but the thing is that I did in fact follow Botes' wishes, and removed the links to his film. However, it turned out this was not enough for mr. Botes, and he continued to harass not only me, but also lash out against film lovers, film makers, distributors and even the whole bitcoin currency and everyone who uses it. It quickly became clear that mr. Botes is not really a poor filmmaker who's taken to the internet to stop every incident of his films' copyrights being infringed, but rather he's a hateful internet troll, spreading malice and attacking everyone who'll give him the time of day, even those who admire his work. Read his blog and you'll see post after post that is so full of hate, he makes it very difficult for anyone to sympathize with him. This is why I'm not the only one who reacted, and the fact that someone bothered to collect all his films just to share them as torrents, is an example of how much he's angered his one time fans.
