Angel Heart (1984)

Angel Heart features the best sex scene ever to be put on celluloid. Lisa Bonet of The Cosby Show fame proves that she is more than just a pretty smile. That smile has teeth. The sex scene was so powerful, it had to be cut down, or the film would have gotten an X-rating. All the goodies were later put back in, of course.

But Angel Heart is more than that. It is also the perfect thriller. There's murder and kidnapping and corruption, a savvy private detective that's seen better days, an intoxicating femme fatale, and there's voodoo. A pre-meltdown Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro at the top of their games, and a script based on an even more amazing book, that oozes of oomph.

And the atmosphere of the film is like a bath in a valium tub. Everything looks, and sounds and feels like a memory you've forgotten. Something you have to try to remember. A film you have to see.
