Bone (1972)

What's a rapist nigger to do, after the white bitches stopped being afraid of him? It used to be special. The scratching and clawing and screams of "Oh, there's a nigger in the house!" used to drive the man crazy with lust. But they took all the mystery out of it. Now they're treating the black men like people, and the poor rapist nigger can't even get it up no more.

-----

Think that's offensive? Then wait 'till you see the rest of Bone, or Beverly Hills Nightmare, as it was also called. It is one of the hardest hitting social satires you will ever see. Racism, alcoholism, sexism, exploitation of death, rape and animal cruelty... everything is turned on its head in this hammer of a movie.

Bone was the directorial debut of famed auteur Larry Cohen, and the writing is probably the best of his amazing career. This is the story Oscar Wilde wished he had written, blasting all political correctness to smithereens and forming a film that is even more powerful today than it was upon its release some 40 years ago. Bone is a piece of movie history no intellectual should let go unseen.

Not only is it on the money, it is also hysterical, and has a super funky soundtrack to boot.

I did a search, and was greatly surprised to see that apparently there is no Larry Cohen fanpage. Or if there is, I couldn't find it. I'm considering setting up one myself, but as I'm not too good with webdesign, I'm wondering if somebody is interested in going on this little venture with me?

If not, then I hope you enjoy the movie. =)
