The Believers (1987)

If you love Angel Heart (and who doesn't?) you'll certainly enjoy this as well.

While The Believers may not be as perfectly stylized as Angel Heart, there's plenty more Voodoo/Hoodoo/Santeria/Brujeria (or magic if you will) to go around.

Martin Sheen is as always a high quality performer, and Jimmy Smits keeps bringing a smile to my face, but Malick Bowens' bottomless eyes are nothing short of amazing, and his quiet character is the real star of the film, rivaling Tony Todd's performance in Candyman.

Other highlights in the film is a very rare instance of seeing someone being killed by milk (yes, that's right) while someone discovers bugs crawling out of their skin!
